In preparation for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, Haridwar GRP Headquarters in Ranipur hosted an inter-state coordination meeting. Officials from Railways, RPF, and GRP units of Moradabad and Saharanpur attended. To ensure smooth operations and safety, all railway stations in the Kanwar Mela region have been divided into two super zones, three zones, and six sectors.
Surveillance cameras will monitor suspicious activity across railway stations. Coordinated intensive checking campaigns will be carried out on trains and at border areas between states and districts. SP Tripti Bhatt stated that Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS), anti-sabotage teams, and dog squads will remain on constant alert. Female officers will be deployed to prevent incidents of harassment.
To curb drug trafficking, coordination will be established with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF). Over 200 GRP personnel, along with IRB Platoons and RPF staff, will be deployed for escort duty on critical trains. ATS teams will also be stationed to handle security threats.
