Helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham remained suspended on Monday due to unfavorable weather conditions and heavy fog across the Kedar valley. Despite passengers gathering at helipads in Guptkashi, Phata, and Sersi, none of the scheduled flights could operate, leaving devotees disappointed. Around 600 tickets had to be cancelled as operations remained grounded throughout the day.
According to Helicopter Service Nodal Officer Rahul Chaubey, the second phase of the Kedarnath yatra was scheduled to begin, but persistent fog prevented even a single shuttle from taking off. He confirmed that six operators—Trans Bharat, Himalayan, Thambi, Global Vectra, Pawan Hans, and Arrow Heli—were assigned for service in this phase, but none could fly.
Officials are closely monitoring the situation, and services are expected to resume once weather conditions improve.
