Kedarnath Heli Seva: Fares rise by 45.86%, new rates effective from September 15

Kedarnath Temple closure 2024

The fare for helicopter services to Kedarnath Dham has been increased by 45.86 percent. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) announced that the revised rates will come into effect from September 15, when the second phase of the Kedarnath heli services resumes.

This year, the service began on May 2, 2025, but was suspended following helicopter accidents in Uttarkashi and Kedarnath valley. Bookings for the upcoming phase will open on IRCTC’s website from September 10. To enhance safety and operational standards, a 10-member committee led by Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli has drafted a new SOP, under which flights will operate from September 15 with government approval.

UCADA CEO Ashish Chauhan informed that due to limited daily shuttle flights and fewer available seats from Guptkashi, Sirsi, and Phata routes, fares were revised. The new one-way charges are: Guptkashi to Kedarnath – Rs 12,444 (earlier Rs 8,532), Phata to Kedarnath – Rs 8,842 (earlier Rs 6,062), and Sirsi to Kedarnath – Rs 8,839 (earlier Rs 6,060).
