The online booking of Kedarnath helicopter tickets, which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday as part of the second phase of the Chardham Yatra, has been postponed. IRCTC announced the deferment on its official website.
IRCTC had earlier set 10 September as the date for opening the booking portal, with online reservations for heli services expected to start from 12 noon. The services were planned for commencement on 15 September. However, due to technical issues, the booking process has been delayed.
Unstable weather conditions in Uttarakhand, particularly due to ongoing rainfall, are also being seen as a major factor. Officials anticipate possible challenges in starting heli services to Kedarnath from 15 September. Ashish Chauhan, CEO of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority, stated that further details regarding the deferment would be sought from IRCTC.
