A tragic helicopter crash near Gauri Mai Khark, en route from Kedarnath to Guptkashi, has claimed seven lives, including that of the pilot. The helicopter, operated by Aryan Heli Aviation, reportedly crashed after striking a tree due to poor visibility caused by inclement weather. Following the incident, a case has been registered against Aryan Heli Aviation by the Revenue Sub-Inspector of Gaurikund.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a foreign visit to Cyprus, spoke with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to obtain a detailed account of the accident. Expressing deep sorrow, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and assured full support from the central government.
Chief Minister Dhami informed the Prime Minister that a high-level emergency meeting was convened immediately after the crash. Orders have been issued to form a high-level investigation committee to probe the cause of the crash thoroughly. Additionally, a Command and Coordination Centre will be established to ensure better disaster response and rapid coordination.
