Helicopter services to Kedarnath will resume from Tuesday, June 17, with scheduled flights from various helipads in the Kedarghati region. Six helicopter companies will operate under close surveillance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which has issued strict guidelines for all flights.
The service was suspended for two days following the tragic crash on June 15 at Gauri Mai Khark that claimed seven lives. As operations resume, every shuttle will be closely monitored by the DGCA under the framework of OC-2-2023 guidelines.
Authorities have emphasized that no flights will take off in case of adverse weather conditions. In light of the pre-monsoon season, flights will only operate if visibility and weather are deemed safe. Rahul Chaubey, the nodal officer for Kedarnath helicopter services, confirmed that operations will follow the scheduled timings strictly.
