The long-awaited moment arrived on Friday morning when the sacred doors of Kedarnath Temple were opened at 7 AM during the auspicious Vrish Lagna. The valley reverberated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” as thousands of devotees witnessed the ceremonial opening of the temple’s gates. Overwhelmed with devotion, pilgrims bowed their heads in reverence, filling the atmosphere with spiritual fervor.
The temple was beautifully decorated with 108 quintals of flowers and garlands to mark the occasion. Devotees who had gathered in large numbers offered prayers with utmost dedication. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also reached Kedarnath shortly before the gates opened and offered his prayers soon after the ceremony.
In a symbolic gesture, the first puja after the reopening was performed in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Senior administrative, police, and security officials were present to ensure the smooth conduct of the event and maintain law and order during the large congregation.
The grand reopening of Kedarnath’s gates marks the official beginning of the Char Dham Yatra season, drawing pilgrims from across the country.
