Dehradun – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the Uttarakhand contingent from the CM camp office on Wednesday for the upcoming 4th Khelo Masters National Championship, to be held in New Delhi from April 11 to 13, 2025. The championship will feature sports such as athletics, football, basketball, hockey, shooting, badminton, table tennis, and volleyball.
The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all the participating players, noting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has made significant strides in sports promotion. He highlighted rapid development in sports infrastructure and constant encouragement for athletes from the Prime Minister.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand’s new sports policy is focused on providing athletes with every possible facility. He proudly mentioned that Uttarakhand secured 7th place in the recently held National Games and is now earning recognition as a state of sporting excellence.
This year, the Khelo Masters Games Foundation of Uttarakhand, under the leadership of its Vice President Dr. Virendra Singh Rawat, will lead the state delegation at the event. The football squad includes teams in 40+, 50+, and 60+ age categories, while athletics participants range from over 40 years to above 70 years of age.
Present on the occasion were Khelo Masters Games Foundation of Uttarakhand’s patron Prem Singh Bisht, P.C. Khantwal, Subhash Arora, Vimal Singh Rawat, Sunil Sharma, Aneesh Sharma, Vinesh Rana, Sharad Agrawal, Surendra Singh Rawat, Chatresh Kumar, Prem Prakash Purohit, and several other athletes.
