Kumbh 2025: Special Facilities for General Coach Passengers Under Consideration

The grand Kumbh Mela 2025 is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, with over 450 million devotees expected to participate. To ensure smooth travel, Indian Railways is considering special concessions and facilities for general coach passengers.

During the Kumbh Mela, over 500,000 passengers are expected to travel in general coaches daily. In response, the Railways plans to operate more than 13,000 trains, including 3,000 special trains. Additionally, over ₹5,000 crore has been invested in expanding passenger amenities in Prayagraj over the past two years.

Indian Railways has also ensured direct connectivity to Prayagraj from major cities across the country. Special reserved trains will run from 50 key cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Howrah, Ahmedabad, Patna, and Ranchi, offering devotees a convenient and seamless travel experience.
