Laksar Firing Case: Two Accused Arrested for Shooting History-Sheeter Vinay Tyagi

Police have arrested both accused involved in the firing on history-sheeter Vinay Tyagi while he was being taken under police custody to Laksar court. SSP Pramendra Dobal confirmed that the main accused, Sunny Yadav alias Shera (28), a resident of Gulzarpur in Kashipur, and his associate Ajay (24), from Kharmaasa Colony, Kashipur, were arrested from the forests of Khanpur.

According to police, Vinay Tyagi was lodged in Roorkee Jail and was being taken to the Laksar ACJM court in connection with a cheating case. During the journey, two bike-borne assailants opened indiscriminate fire on the police vehicle on the Laksar–Haridwar highway flyover. Vinay Tyagi sustained three bullet injuries, while two police personnel suffered minor injuries. The attackers managed to flee from the spot after the incident.

Investigations revealed that both arrested accused were previously jailed in a dacoity case in Kashipur. Police stated that Vinay Tyagi had allegedly been threatening Sunny Yadav over monetary disputes and had issued repeated death threats. Following this, Sunny had been keeping track of Vinay Tyagi’s movements for a long time. After learning about his court appearance in Laksar, the attack was planned with the intention of revenge.
