Legal Action on Illegal Madrasa, Madrasa Board Launches Helpline

Legal action has been taken against an illegal madrasa in Rudrapur. Uttarakhand Madrasa Board launches a helpline for transparency.

Under the directives of Mufti Shamoon Qasmi, Chairman of the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board, legal action has been taken against an illegally operated madrasa in Rudrapur. The board had previously issued a letter to the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police on August 24, urging strict action against the Maulana of the madrasa, who was accused of molesting minor girls.

Following an investigation by the District Magistrate, it was confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated against the Maulana of the illegal madrasa. The police have taken action under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Mufti Qasmi emphasized that strict action will be recommended for any other madrasa, registered under the Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board or not, if similar complaints arise. He also urged madrasa authorities across the state to comply with government guidelines and maintain educational standards.

Helpline Monitored by the Board
Chairman Qasmi announced the launch of a madrasa helpline to promote transparency and accountability in all madrasas across the state. Complaints can be filed via WhatsApp on the number 9927741686, and the monitoring will be handled directly from the Chairman’s office.
