The Lok Sabha has passed the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025, introducing further changes to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957. The bill aims to streamline mining regulations and promote development in the sector. Alongside, the Indian Ports Bill was also approved, marking significant legislative progress.
Amid heavy opposition protests, the government managed to secure the passage of several key bills in the Lower House. Following the proceedings, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until August 18.
