The Uttarakhand administration has initiated action to verify madrasas operating illegally in the state. Following directives from the Chief Minister, the police have prepared to conduct a statewide verification of madrasas and investigate possible illegal funding sources.
To streamline the process, district-level committees headed by District Magistrates (DMs) have been formed. These committees comprise officials from the police and other relevant departments.
Inspector General and Police Spokesperson Dr. Nilesh Anand Bharne stated that the verification will also check if students from outside the state are enrolled in these madrasas. The committees are expected to submit their reports within a month.
