Mahakumbh: A Divine Congregation Begins with Naga Sadhus’ Dip

The Mahakumbh 2025 commenced with grandeur on Paush Purnima, as the first royal bath infused the Sangam with devotion and faith. On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Naga Sadhus of the Mahanirvani Akhada initiated the sacred rituals with their Amrit Snan at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati. Chanting “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Shri Ram” echoed across the banks as devotees also took the holy dip to seek blessings.

Tight Security Arrangements

To manage the massive crowd, a comprehensive security setup was deployed, including police, PAC, mounted police, and paramilitary forces. Designated time slots were allotted to Akhadas for their bathing rituals:

A Divine Experience

Mahamandaleshwar Swami Gyan Puri described the experience as unforgettable, praising both the devotees’ faith and the arrangements. Many pilgrims camped overnight near the Akhada routes to catch a glimpse of the Naga Sadhus and receive their blessings.
