Mahendra Bhatt Re-elected as Uttarakhand BJP President

Mahendra Bhatt has been re-elected as the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uttarakhand unit, making history as the first individual to serve two consecutive terms in the position. With no other candidates filing nominations, his selection was uncontested. Bhatt now holds the distinction of becoming the 10th state president of BJP Uttarakhand.

The formal announcement was made on Tuesday during the provincial council meeting by Central Election Officer Harsh Malhotra. Along with Bhatt’s confirmation, the names of eight senior leaders, including former Chief Ministers Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Trivendra Singh Rawat, and Tirath Singh Rawat, were declared as members of the BJP National Council.

The nomination process began on Monday at the state BJP headquarters in Dehradun. Mahendra Bhatt submitted his nomination in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, state in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, and other senior leaders. Election officer Khajan Das received the nomination, and the entire process was overseen by co-election officers Pushkar Kala, Meera Raturi, and Rakesh Giri.

Also present during the announcement were government appointees Jyoti Gairola, Subhash Barthwal, Kuldeep Kumar, state vice president Mukesh Koli, and media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan, among many other party officials and workers.

With this announcement, Bhatt not only continues his leadership role but also sets a new benchmark in the party’s state history by becoming the first to lead the Uttarakhand BJP for two terms.
