In a major action led by the district administration under the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, several illegally operated madrasas were sealed in the Banbhoolpura area of Haldwani on Sunday. A significant police force was deployed during the operation to maintain law and order in the sensitive locality.
The crackdown was carried out under the supervision of Additional District Magistrate Vivek Kumar Roy, along with other senior administrative and police officials. Authorities stated that multiple madrasas were being run in the Haldwani urban area without proper registration or official approval. These were identified and swiftly acted upon.
Officials confirmed that the drive is part of a broader campaign to regulate unregistered educational institutions and that similar operations will continue in the coming days. The administration has emphasized that all religious or educational institutions must adhere to legal procedures and obtain proper clearances to operate.
