Led by the Mool Niwas Bhoo Kanoon Samanvay Sangharsh Samiti, a massive public movement demanding the construction of the Singtali Bridge saw huge participation from local residents, public representatives, political parties, social workers, youth, and women. The long-standing anger of the people finally erupted on the streets as they united for the cause.
In a symbolic gesture, many participants took a dip in the Ganga to purify their resolve before gathering at the protest site. Residents from Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, and other cities also joined the movement to show solidarity.
In a bold move, protestors temporarily blocked the National Highway to express their anger over government neglect. Following discussions with the District Magistrate, Narendra Nagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Devendra Singh Negi arrived at the protest site and assured the crowd that a concrete decision regarding the construction of the Singtali Bridge would be presented within fifteen days.
The committee has warned that if substantial action is not taken before the start of the Char Dham Yatra, they will be compelled to disrupt the pilgrimage. Vikas Rayal “Karmyogi,” convenor of the Narendra Nagar unit, stated that if the government continues to ignore the demands, the Char Dham Yatra may also be affected.
Mool Niwas Bhoo Kanoon Committee founder Mohit Dimri emphasized that the construction of the Singtali Bridge can no longer be postponed and warned that the ongoing public anger could disrupt even major events like the Char Dham Yatra.
