A tragic accident occurred near Siddhbali Temple on the Kotdwar-Pauri highway Monday morning when a large boulder and debris fell onto a vehicle. The Max vehicle was en route from Kilbukhyal to Kotdwar when it was suddenly hit by the falling rocks. Two passengers died on the spot, and five others sustained injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Satbir (20) and Ravindra alias Mota (32), both residents of Pauri Garhwal district. The injured were rushed to the Base Hospital in Kotdwar. Among them, driver Devendra and another passenger Dinesh, who sustained critical injuries, are being referred to a higher medical centre for further treatment.
Other injured include Meenakshi, Pankaj, Simran, Devendra, and Dinesh. Soon after the incident, administrative and rescue teams reached the site and ensured timely medical assistance. Continuous rainfall in the hilly region has increased the risk of landslides, prompting concern for traveler safety.
