Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam concluded his four-day visit to Uttarakhand on Monday. Before his departure from Jolly Grant Airport, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met him and presented Char Dham prasad along with products from the state’s umbrella brand ‘House of Himalayas’ as souvenirs.
The visiting Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the hospitality received in Uttarakhand and praised the state’s traditions. CM Dhami said that the visit would further strengthen cultural ties between India and Mauritius.
Dr. Ramgoolam and his wife Veena Ramgoolam were welcomed with traditional songs and tilak on arrival. They admired the state’s natural beauty, with the Prime Minister describing the sights of Rishikesh as enchanting. A tulsi garland was also presented to him. His visit is expected to boost tourism and cultural promotion in Uttarakhand.
During his stay, he toured Rishikesh and Haridwar. Stringent security arrangements were made, with areas from Dhalwala to Narendra Nagar bypass declared a zero zone until his convoy passed.
