On his visit to Uttarakhand, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini emphasized the sacredness of the Kanwar Yatra, stating that any attempt to disrupt it must be dealt with strictly. He said Kanwar is a divine journey devoted to Lord Shiva, undertaken with immense faith by devotees.
Speaking to the media after offering condolences to BJP national co-treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal on the demise of his mother, CM Saini stressed that devotees walk long distances to fetch holy Ganga water for Jalabhishek in their local Shiva temples. If anyone attempts to create nuisance or hinder the yatra, strong legal action should be taken.
He also praised the Uttarakhand government’s “Kalnemi Abhiyan,” aimed at maintaining order and preventing disturbances during the yatra, and announced that a similar campaign will be implemented in Haryana.
