Dehradun, October 26, 2024 – The National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC), in collaboration with Dehradun Municipal Corporation, held a workshop under the NAMASTE Scheme at the Municipal Corporation auditorium. The workshop educated sanitation workers on various loan schemes to aid in purchasing machinery, tools, vehicles, and PPE kits for safe and effective work.
The session focused on the Prohibition of Manual Scavenging Act, 2013, ensuring participants were informed about safety protocols and legal responsibilities.
This initiative, part of the NAMASTE Scheme (National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem), aims to enhance the safety and operational standards of sanitation workers.

Key attendees included Assistant Municipal Commissioner (SWM) Rajbeer Chauhan, Chief Sanitary Inspector/Sanitary inspectors, AE Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, supervisors, and representatives from the National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC). Piyush Uniyal, NAMASTE Scheme State Coordinator, Uttarakhand, also joined the session virtually.
