Nathan Anderson Announces Hindenburg Research Closing

Hindenburg Research, the firm known for its controversial report against Indian business conglomerate Adani Group, has ceased operations. Founder Nathan Anderson announced the decision on Wednesday, citing no specific reasons. Established in 2017, the firm played a pivotal role in exposing corporate malpractices but is now closing its chapter after what Anderson described as “mission accomplished.”

Founder’s Statement

Anderson said, “The decision to shut down Hindenburg Research was made after long deliberations with my family, friends, and team. Our work is complete, and now is the right time to step back.”

A New Chapter for Anderson

Clarifying that the closure was not driven by threats, health issues, or personal problems, Anderson described this as a natural conclusion to an important chapter in his life. He plans to focus on personal pursuits, family, and leisure activities moving forward.

Future Plans

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Anderson revealed plans to invest in low-risk options like index funds and dedicate more time to hobbies and travel.

Hindenburg and the Adani Controversy

Hindenburg’s 2023 report on the Adani Group led to significant global scrutiny, wiping billions off the conglomerate’s valuation. In 2024, the firm also made serious allegations against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband, further cementing its reputation as a corporate watchdog.
