Uttarakhand’s athletes have created history at the 38th National Games, securing a place in the top 10 of the medal tally for the first time. On Saturday, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha visited the gymnastics court at the Maharana Pratap Sports Complex, Dehradun, to witness the ongoing competitions.
Friday also proved to be a remarkable day for Uttarakhand sports, as both the men’s and women’s netball teams advanced to the next round with impressive victories. In the men’s category, Uttarakhand defeated Karnataka 52-41. According to Netball Association Secretary and team captain Surendra Kumai, the state team had previously won a bronze medal at the Senior Nationals in Bengaluru. With high hopes for a gold medal at the National Games, the early wins have boosted the team’s confidence.
