CM Dhami Orders Launching of ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ Against Fake Saints

In response to growing incidents of fraud committed under the guise of religion, the Uttarakhand government has announced a crackdown through a special drive named Operation Kaalnemi. The campaign will target individuals posing as saints or spiritual figures, particularly those exploiting people’s faith for personal gain.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami issued strict directives, stating that several anti-social elements have been disguising themselves as saints to deceive women and vulnerable citizens. He compared these imposters to the demon Kaalnemi from mythology, who misled people while appearing in saintly form. “Many such Kaalnemis are active in society today, spreading deceit in the name of religion,” Dhami said.

The Chief Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to protect Sanatan values and preserve social harmony. He warned that those misusing religious attire to mislead the public will face strict legal consequences. The campaign aims not only to prevent fraud but also to safeguard the image of Sanatan Dharma from being tarnished by such pretenders.
