PCS: UKPSC repeats preliminary result error in PCS mains, releases corrected result; 19 names removed

After a cyber attack on the State Public Service Commission's website, the Commission will publish results in newspapers until the site is restored.

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has cancelled the previously issued result of the Uttarakhand Combined State Civil/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Main Examination 2024 and released a revised list. A total of 19 candidates have been removed in the updated result.

The commission repeated in the PCS mains result the same error that earlier occurred in the preliminary result, which led to major confusion. After reviewing the issue, UKPSC corrected the technical mistakes and issued a revised list strictly according to eligibility.

The PCS preliminary exam result was declared on 23 December 2024. For the post of Probation Officer (Women Empowerment & Child Development Department), 12 candidates were qualified for the mains. Their roll numbers were: 107132, 119742, 120925, 144302, 146609, 162271, 176078, 186453, 219236, 219819, 238736 and 245207. However, when the mains result was published, candidates with roll numbers 162439, 182463 and 197739 were declared qualified instead.

The revised cutoff for the Probation Officer post in the preliminary exam was 95.9854 marks. The three candidates mistakenly passed earlier had marks lower than the cutoff—81.2988, 82.3486 and 91.7894 respectively. Despite having lower marks than the official cutoff, they were shown selected for the post. The same error was carried forward into the main result issued on 29 November.

After candidates raised objections and the commission reviewed the case, the mistake was confirmed. In the revised mains result declared on Monday, the three incorrect candidates (162439, 182463, 197739) were removed from the Probation Officer shortlist and shifted to combined posts. In their place, candidates 162271 (100.1814 marks), 219236 (95.9854 marks) and 245207 (99.6560 marks) have now been declared successful. All three candidates scored above the cutoff and are eligible according to merit.
