PM Modi Leaves for Croatia After Concluding Canada Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his productive visit to Canada, where he participated in the G7 Summit, and is now en route to Croatia. During the summit, PM Modi discussed key global issues such as energy security, technology, and innovation. His next stop, Croatia, marks a historic moment as it will be the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country.

On the sidelines of his international engagements, PM Modi had a 35-minute phone conversation with former US President Donald Trump. According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the meeting between the two leaders was originally scheduled to take place during the G7 Summit. However, Trump had to return to the US early, leading to the phone call initiated at Trump’s request.

During the conversation, the two leaders spoke in detail about India’s fight against terrorism and “Operation Sindoor”, a counter-terror mission launched following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. President Trump had earlier extended condolences and support to India after the attack. This was the first communication between the two leaders since then, and PM Modi provided updates on the mission’s progress.

PM Modi is visiting Croatia at the invitation of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. The visit is expected to significantly strengthen bilateral ties. Modi will also meet Croatian President Zoran Milanović. The visit highlights India’s commitment to deepening its partnership with European Union member states.
