The 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was held in New Delhi on Saturday. With the theme “Developed India @2047 through Developed States,” the meeting focused on enhancing cooperative federalism to accelerate the nation’s progress.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi stressed that rapid development is possible if the Centre and states work together as “Team India.” He said, “A developed India is the goal of every citizen. When every state becomes developed, India will be developed too. It’s the aspiration of 140 crore Indians.”
Highlighting rapid urbanisation, the PM urged states to build future-ready cities with innovation, sustainability, and development at their core. He also proposed that every state should develop at least one world-class tourist destination to boost local economies and tourism.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the meeting and discussed key issues related to the state’s development. He said the conference under the leadership of the Prime Minister would ensure strong participation of states to achieve the vision of “Developed India 2047.”
Notably, some leaders including the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Kerala skipped the meeting. Karnataka CM cited prior commitments, while Kerala and Puducherry sent representatives.
