PM Modi: Operation Sindoor Proves India’s Growing Self-Reliance in Defence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed Operation Sindoor as a strong testament to India’s increasing self-reliance in the defence sector. While chairing the 48th edition of the PRAGATI meeting, he reviewed the progress of several critical infrastructure projects across defence, mining, railways, and water resources.

According to an official statement, the Prime Minister commended various ministries, departments, and states/UTs for their exemplary initiatives in boosting Atmanirbharta in defence. He emphasized the strategic importance of these efforts and their potential to foster innovation in the defence ecosystem.

The PRAGATI platform aims to promote proactive governance and timely implementation by integrating efforts across central and state governments. During the review, PM Modi stressed the need for a results-driven approach focused on strict timelines, inter-agency coordination, and swift problem-solving to turn opportunities into transformative change.

Focus on Border and Remote Healthcare under Ayushman Bharat Mission

During the review of the Prime Minister-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), PM Modi urged all states to accelerate healthcare development, particularly in aspirational districts, tribal regions, and border areas. He emphasized ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for the poor, marginalized, and under-served populations. Highlighting existing healthcare gaps in remote areas, the PM called for immediate and sustained efforts to bridge them.
