Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha, stating that no world leader asked India to halt “Operation Sindoor,” launched in retaliation for the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He described the ongoing session of Parliament as a “celebration of victory” and a “tribute to India’s valor and unity.”
PM Modi declared that the Pahalgam attack was a ploy to ignite violence in the country, but the nation stood united and foiled it. He recalled his statement after the April 22 attack, pledging to “reduce terrorism to dust” and punish its masterminds severely. After returning from abroad on the same day, he chaired a meeting and gave the armed forces a free hand to act.
He emphasized the swift action taken by Indian forces, who executed a precise 22-minute operation during the night of May 6 and the morning of May 7 to avenge the attack. He claimed the Pakistani army had already sensed a strong Indian response and had begun issuing nuclear threats, but India remained firm and strategic.
PM Modi asserted that for the first time, India carried out strikes in areas previously untouched by its military, targeting terror hubs across Pakistan. He added that this decisive retaliation showcased India’s military strength and its unshakable resolve to eliminate terrorism.
