Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated projects worth over ₹90,000 crore in Rajasthan on Thursday, including the foundation stone of an atomic power plant in Banswara. He also flagged off new Vande Bharat trains for Jodhpur and Bikaner, along with a new express train from Udaipur. During his address, Modi targeted the Congress, accusing it of corruption, mismanagement, and neglect of key sectors such as electricity, tribal welfare, and education.
Modi claimed that Congress governments left Rajasthan with “wounds,” while the BJP worked to provide “healing.” He alleged that Congress ignored the importance of electricity, highlighting that under its rule, villages often had only 4–5 hours of power supply. He said the BJP brought electricity to every household and is now promoting clean energy through schemes like PM Kusum and PM Surya Ghar.
On corruption and paper leaks, Modi alleged that Rajasthan had become the “center of paper leaks” under Congress. He accused the previous government of turning the Jal Jeevan Mission into a hub of corruption while law and order deteriorated, especially for women.
Focusing on tribal welfare, Modi said Congress neglected tribal communities for decades, while the BJP created the Tribal Affairs Ministry, launched Van Dhan Yojana, expanded Eklavya schools, and increased MSP on forest produce. He claimed these initiatives benefited over five crore tribals.
Modi also attacked Congress on inflation and taxation, stating that it previously charged ₹31 tax on goods worth ₹100. With GST, he said, the BJP government reduced the burden, saving households money every month.
