Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttarakhand for a one-day trip to review the ongoing reconstruction projects in Badrinath and Kedarnath. He is also expected to promote the state’s winter tourism with a possible visit to Mukhba in Gangotri or Kharsali in Yamunotri, marking the winter abodes of the deities.
The visit comes following a request by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the National Games 2024 and support the promotion of Uttarakhand’s winter tourism.
During his visit, PM Modi will receive a detailed presentation on the second phase of reconstruction work at Kedarnath and the progress under the Badrinath Master Plan. The state government is also working on a plan to develop Gangotri and Yamunotri on the lines of Badrinath and Kedarnath with central support. Preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit, which is scheduled for 5.5 hours, are already underway.
