PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’: Discusses Constitution and Democracy

In the 118th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday, reflecting on Republic Day, the Constitution, and the significance of democracy. This marked the first episode of the program for 2025.

PM Modi noted that this edition aired on the third Sunday, instead of the usual fourth, to align with the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. He extended early Republic Day wishes to the nation, emphasizing the occasion’s special significance as it marks the 75th anniversary of the Indian Republic.

The Prime Minister paid homage to key contributors of the Constituent Assembly, including Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Rajendra Prasad, and Syama Prasad Mukherjee, highlighting their invaluable contributions. Calling the debates of the Assembly a part of India’s rich heritage, he shared an inspiring excerpt from Ambedkar’s vision on the importance of cooperation.

Recalling the 1951-52 elections, PM Modi addressed the skepticism surrounding India’s democratic success at the time and noted how the country proved all doubts wrong, emerging as the mother of democracy. He urged citizens to vote actively and strengthen the democratic process.
