Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has successfully met the target of providing financial aid under the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme, benefiting over 40,000 street vendors across the state. The PM SVANidhi scheme, launched to support small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, offers collateral-free loans to street vendors. Uttarakhand’s Urban Development Department acts as the nodal agency for the scheme.
The scheme provides loans in three phases: ₹10,000 in the first phase, ₹20,000 in the second, and ₹50,000 in the third, with eligibility for subsequent loans dependent on timely repayment. In Uttarakhand, 27,330 vendors received the first-phase loan, 10,349 received the second, and 2,364 benefited from the third-phase loan, totaling ₹59.64 crore disbursed to 40,043 vendors.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the Urban Development Department and municipal officials for their dedication in exceeding the target, stating that the scheme is aligned with the government’s focus on uplifting the livelihoods of the economically weaker sections.
