Dehradun, 9 Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled a special series of commemorative postage stamps issued by the Uttarakhand Postal Circle during his participation in the main Silver Jubilee function of the state’s formation at the FRI campus here. The stamps depict the state’s prominent pilgrimage sites and cultural symbols, offering national recognition to the religious, cultural, and natural heritage of Uttarakhand.
During the event, Modi also digitally transferred an amount exceeding Rs 62 crores directly into the bank accounts of over 28,000 farmers in the state through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). The initiative aims to provide insurance cover to farmers against natural calamities and crop loss, thereby ensuring financial security and support to those dependent on agriculture in the hill state.
