Dehradun, 13 Nov: The Government of India, in coordination with various state agencies, has successfully rescued and repatriated young men trafficked for cybercrime from Myanmar. Among them, approximately 21 individuals are residents of Uttarakhand. Upon interrogation at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Kumaon Region, Rudrapur, the victims

Thailand on a visa. From Bangkok, they were illegally transported to KK Park city, Myawaddy,
Myanmar, where they were held captive and forced to engage in cybercrime activities
such as fraudulent calling and other operations.

of employment and coerced into cybercrime. Based on the investigation, Cyber Crime Police STF
Uttarakhand identified two agents who were sending youths from Udham Singh Nagar district to Bangkok, Thailand, under the pretence of job opportunities. These youths were then illegally
transported through forests and rivers to KK Park, Myanmar, where they were held
captive and forced into cybercrime.
In connection with this human trafficking for cybercrime, Cyber Crime Police STF Uttarakhand
registered a case today, at Jaspur Police Station, Udham Singh Nagar district, against one of the identified agents under relevant legal provisions and arrested the individual.
