Suspended JD(S) leader and former MP Prajwal Revanna has been found guilty in one of four sexual assault and rape cases by a special court in Bengaluru. The case involves a 48-year-old woman who worked as a domestic help at the Gannikada farmhouse in Holenarasipura, Hassan district. The woman was allegedly raped twice in 2021, and Revanna reportedly recorded the acts on his mobile phone.
Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda, is currently under investigation in four separate cases of sexual abuse and assault. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up to probe the charges. Following the allegations, the JD(S) suspended him from the party. Revanna had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Hassan but lost.
The court will pronounce his sentence on August 2.
