Probe Begins into ₹3 Crore PM Poshan Scam, Two-Member Committee Formed

A two-member inquiry committee has been formed under Garhwal Additional Director Kanchan Devrari to investigate a ₹3 crore scam under the PM Poshan Yojana (Mid-Day Meal Scheme). The investigation has officially commenced following orders from Director General of Education Deepti Singh, who has directed the committee—comprising Kanchan Devrari and Education Department Finance Controller Hemendra Gangwar—to submit a report within two days.

According to Devrari, the probe is actively underway. Preliminary findings indicate suspected involvement not only of education department officials but also of certain bank employees. Officials believe that such a significant financial fraud could not have occurred without internal collusion. Notably, despite the withdrawal of crores, the department claims it never received even a single OTP, raising serious concerns about bank-level participation.
