Rain Brings Relief Across Uttarakhand, Yellow Alert in Hills

Weather conditions across Uttarakhand shifted notably on Friday, bringing relief from the heat. Heavy rainfall lashed Dehradun and Haridwar in the afternoon, offering much-needed respite from the sweltering weather. Rainfall was also recorded in Badrinath Dham, where clouds had been hovering since morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, most regions in the state are expected to witness cloudy skies and light rainfall. Intense showers are likely in mountainous areas. Earlier in the day, Dehradun and surrounding plains experienced strong sunlight and humid conditions despite normal temperatures, making the weather uncomfortable. Meanwhile, hilly regions saw intermittent cloud cover and light rainfall.

Looking ahead, meteorologists have forecast continued weather fluctuations in Uttarakhand. A yellow alert has been issued for Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar, with warnings of heavy showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds. In Dehradun and adjacent areas, light showers and partly cloudy skies are likely to persist, with temperatures hovering around normal.
