Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while addressing the “Rashtra Raksha ka Sankalp” session at Amar Ujala’s Samvad event, asserted that the entire Kashmir will one day be unified and even PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) will declare, “I am also India.” Without revealing the roadmap, he expressed confidence that people will witness this unification in their lifetime.
He reiterated the government’s firm stance against terrorism, citing the recent Pahalgam attack where terrorists targeted civilians based on their religion. Singh described the attack as not just against 26 individuals but against India’s unity. He said that despite Pakistan’s efforts, development in Kashmir has not stopped.
Singh emphasized that India’s approach to terrorism has changed under the current leadership, referencing “Operation Sindoor,” which he claimed is not over but currently paused. He noted that warfare today also involves information warfare, not just action on the battlefield—a reality India is actively addressing.
The minister also laid out the roadmap for India’s self-reliance in defence manufacturing. He highlighted that the future of India’s defence preparedness lies in domestic companies supplying a greater share of defence equipment, reducing dependency on imports.
