Dehradun, 3 Nov: The Rajpur Nature Fest 2025 provided BODHI Creations the opportunity to showcase products developed by Children with Special Needs (CWSN).
This initiative is not merely about selling products, but about creating awareness among the public on inclusion, accessibility, and the challenges faced by persons with disabilities (PwDs) and their caregivers/families.
“Under Project BODHI, an initiative of the “Society For Inclusive Development (SFID)”, various capacity-building & orientation programs for CWSN, designed according to their learning abilities and individual interests, are organised,” said Shubhang Jaggi, Project Head, BODHI.
Most of the young boys and girls at the Skill Development Centre live with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, physical disabilities, and other neuro-developmental delays. After initial assessments and psychological counselling, they and their families are guided toward specialised training programs tailored to their needs, Shubhang added.
“At BODHI Inclusive Care & Skill Centre, we are offering technology-based tools for early identification and screening, therapies, inclusive education, vocational training, career counselling, and handholding support for long-term career development,” said Dr Geetika Mathur, Advisor, BODHI.
“Employment and financial inclusion remain the biggest challenges for these children. Hence, such skill development programs are vital,” added Asma, Special Trainer at BODHI.
“We are in the process of signing MoUs with like-minded organizations working for people with disabilities (PwD), their rights, their social & financial inclusion, in India, Europe, and Japan to enhance our capacity in this direction and empower people with special needs,” shared Shubhang Jaggi.
