The Uttarakhand government has announced a special gift for women on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. On August 9, women across the state will be able to travel free of cost in Uttarakhand Roadways buses to visit their brothers and celebrate the festival.
An official order has been issued by the Transport Corporation, confirming that women passengers will be granted free travel exclusively within the state. This initiative aims to support cultural traditions and make it easier for sisters to meet their brothers during the festival.
The scheme will be valid only for one day—August 9—and applies to all categories of roadways buses operating within Uttarakhand.
