The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been honored with the Digital Transformation Award 2025 by Central Banking London for its digital initiatives ‘Pravah’ and ‘Sarathi.’ These initiatives have significantly transformed RBI’s internal and external processes while reducing paper usage.
RBI shared this achievement on its official X handle, stating that both initiatives were developed by its in-house team. The ‘Sarathi’ initiative has fully digitized RBI’s internal workflows, while the ‘Pravah’ portal allows external users to submit regulatory applications digitally.
Both ‘Pravah’ and ‘Sarathi’ incorporate secure document storage, record management, centralized cybersecurity, and digital tracking. To ensure effective implementation, RBI’s IT team designed the system based on employee needs and appointed senior nodal officers in each department.
