Dehradun – With the Char Dham Yatra set to commence on April 30, the Uttarakhand government has intensified preparations to ensure a smooth pilgrimage. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promotion of the winter pilgrimage from Mukhba and Harsil, a massive surge in enthusiasm has been witnessed. In just five days, more than 7 lakh devotees have registered for the pilgrimage.
According to the Uttarakhand Tourism Department, the registration process began on March 20 via an online portal and mobile app. So far, 7,12,345 devotees have registered, with Kedarnath leading the count.
- Kedarnath: 2,50,000+ registrations
- Gangotri: 1,75,000 registrations
- Yamunotri: 1,60,000+ registrations
- Badrinath: 1,27,345 registrations
The government has fully digitized the registration process, providing options through the online portal, mobile app, and a toll-free number to ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees.

- Gangotri and Yamunotri: April 30
- Kedarnath: May 2
- Badrinath: May 4
Longer Yatra Duration This Year
This year’s Char Dham Yatra is expected to last longer, offering devotees greater opportunities for pilgrimage:
- In 2023, the Yatra began on April 22, witnessing a record 56.18 lakh devotees.
- In 2024, the Yatra commenced on May 10, with 48.04 lakh devotees participating despite a shorter duration.
- In 2025, with the Yatra starting from April 30, a higher number of devotees is anticipated.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the government is committed to providing improved facilities for pilgrims. He emphasized that effective management has strengthened trust among devotees, and every possible effort is being made to ensure a smooth and seamless Yatra experience.
