A truck carrying 28 Kanwariyas en route to Neelkanth temple for Jalabhishek overturned near Durga Mata Mandir at Saat Mod on the Dehradun-Rishikesh road. The vehicle reportedly lost control while navigating the hilly stretch.
Upon receiving the alert, local residents immediately informed the Kotwali police. The police and emergency services reached the spot and rushed all the injured to SPS Government Hospital using 108 ambulances and government medical vehicles.
Three of the Kanwariyas sustained serious injuries and were referred to AIIMS Rishikesh for advanced treatment. The rest suffered minor injuries and are being treated at the local hospital. All the devotees involved in the accident are from Kaithal district in Haryana.
