Violence broke out during a Sant Ravidas Jayanti procession in Roorkee on Sunday, leading to firing and stone-pelting between two groups. The incident took place in Binarasi village under the Bhagwanpur police station area, creating panic in the locality.
According to information, an argument erupted between two sides during the procession, which quickly escalated into a violent clash. Eyewitnesses reported that the situation turned serious when shots were fired and stones were hurled from both sides.
In the incident, Anand, aged 28 and a resident of Binarasi village, died on the spot. Two others, Vishal (25) and Yogendra (27), were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Following the violence, heavy police force has been deployed in the village to prevent further unrest. Tension remains in the area, and locals have refused to allow authorities to lift the body, demanding strict action against those responsible. Police officials are holding talks with villagers and have started an investigation to identify those involved in the firing and violence.
