The sacred Rudranath Temple, known as the fourth Kedar among the Panch Kedar shrines, opened its doors to devotees at 4 AM today with traditional rituals and worship. Over 500 devotees witnessed the spiritually significant moment as chants of “Jai Rudranath” echoed through the temple nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. The temple has been beautifully decorated with marigold flowers for the occasion.
A day earlier, the utsav doli (ceremonial palanquin) of Lord Rudranath had reached Pung Bugyal for its overnight halt after departing from the winter abode at Gopinath Temple. On Saturday evening, the doli reached Rudranath Temple. The next morning, priest Sunil Tiwari performed the morning rituals and aarti. Following the offering of bhog, the doli proceeded towards the temple with devotees, where the atmosphere turned devotional with continuous chants and celebrations.
