Preparations have commenced for the ceremonial reopening of Rudranath Temple, the fourth of the Panch Kedar shrines in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. On Wednesday, following traditional rituals at the winter seat, Gopinath Temple, the Utsav Doli of Lord Rudranath was taken out in a grand ceremony witnessed by scores of devotees.
The sacred doli will remain at Gopinath Temple for public viewing for two days. On May 16, it will begin its journey to the Rudranath Temple and is expected to reach the main shrine on May 17. The temple doors will be formally opened for pilgrims at 6:00 AM on May 18 with full Vedic rituals.
Devotees from across the region gathered for the occasion and offered prayers ahead of the annual pilgrimage season. Rudranath is one of the most revered Kedars, attracting thousands of devotees during the yatra season.
