Uttarakhand – On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, a grand Unity March will be organized at both state and national levels. Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya announced the details during a press conference held at the Secretariat in Dehradun on Tuesday.
Rekha Arya informed that free registration for the Unity March has already begun through the Mera Bharat portal, with no restrictions on age or number of participants. The event will officially take place on October 31, and people from all walks of life are encouraged to take part.
The celebrations will unfold in three distinct phases. The second phase, scheduled between October 31 and November 16, will feature Unity Marches across all 13 districts of Uttarakhand. Each march will cover a distance of about 8 to 10 kilometers, symbolizing harmony and national unity.
Participants selected from these state-level marches will then move to the third and final phase, a 152-kilometer journey from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthplace in Nadiad, Gujarat, to the Statue of Unity in Narmada district. This concluding phase will take place from November 26 to December 6.
Minister Arya urged citizens across Uttarakhand to join the event in large numbers and celebrate the vision of unity and integrity championed by Sardar Patel. Special Principal Secretary (Sports) Amit Sinha, Sports Director Ashish Chauhan, and Mera Yuva Bharat Deputy Director Monika Namdar were also present during the press briefing.
