The Uttar Pradesh government will introduce a scholarship in the name of astronaut Shubhashnu Shukla. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement during a civic felicitation ceremony organized at Lok Bhawan, Lucknow, to honor Shukla’s achievements. Both Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, several state ministers, and Shukla’s family members were present on the occasion.
CM Yogi felicitated Shubhashnu Shukla, while the gathering stood in applause to celebrate his accomplishments. Addressing the program, Shukla shared his experiences and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received in Lucknow, mentioning he took nearly two thousand selfies during the day.
Speaking at the event, CM Yogi said that Shukla’s journey marks an entry into a field previously untouched by the state. Highlighting challenges like climate change, erratic rainfall, drought, and lightning strikes, he emphasized that Shukla’s contribution can inspire better scientific management in these areas. The CM added that the felicitation program would motivate India’s youth to explore new opportunities in science and technology.
