Significant Role of Women in National Games: 1,053 Female Volunteers Managing Key Arrangements

While athletes are showcasing their talent on the field at the National Games 2025, a remarkable contribution is being made off the field by 1,053 female volunteers managing various arrangements. For the first time in Uttarakhand, such a large number of women volunteers are participating, reflecting a strong symbol of women’s empowerment.

The National Games Secretariat received over 30,000 registrations from aspiring volunteers. After an initial selection process and training, 2,451 volunteers were assigned duties, comprising 1,398 male (57.4%) and 1,053 female (42.96%) volunteers. These volunteers are responsible for parking management, athlete transportation, medal ceremonies, and other logistical support.

Mansi from Kotdwar, a media and mass communication student at Doon University and a volleyball player, expressed her pride in being part of the event. Similarly, Ridhima from Dehradun, a basketball player, shared that volunteering at such a prestigious event has provided her with invaluable experience and the opportunity to witness various sports competitions.
